KHS Facilities for the Performing Arts

Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium is the performing area for the performing arts at KHS and for the Kodiak Arts Council. This is where we do our band and choir concerts and at least one play from the Drama Club or drama classes. The auditorium can seat up to 450 people with out the pods being hydraulically turned to help seat the auditorium. With the pod seating, the grand total of seats available in the auditorium is about 700. For more information go here for an in depth technical and auditorium seating list.

Our Drama pod (above left) is where small productions take place. In front of the seating area there is a small stage that is just about right for class productions. In our Choir pod (above right) is where the drama classes are actually taught as well as practice and rehearsal for concerts, music festivals and more will take place next year for the choir classes.

To the left is our band room, all of the practice, rehearsals, and band related classes take place in here. When concert time is getting close the choir and band classes will move to the auditorium stage to figure out spacing. This is also the temporary class room for the choir classes as well, and is the rehearsal room for the voice and band parts of Arts Council productions.
