MECHANICAL DRAWING

Learning by Design

KHS mechanical drawing teaches students to:

  • learn the simple tools that make up most machines
  • draw shapes in three views
  • create solid models of designs
  • design mechanical solutions to real problems.

Complex tools are combinations of simple machines.

KHS mechanical drawing requires students to:

  • understand the inventions that have changed our lives.
  • know the great inventors who altered history.

KHS mechanical drawing has added a CNC milling machine to the program for the '04-'05 school year. This will allow students to:

  • Better understand the design process from concept to prototyping. Our new CNC mill allows students to design a part and make a plastic prototype the same day.
  • Use the same design and testing processes that engineers use in industry.
