Architectural Drafting I
|
Introduces students to basic drafting and design skills. Emphasis is placed on the use of AutoCAD design software. Students are also instructed in the use of traditional paper/pencil drawing tools. Students are guided through the design and construction of their own single story home. Basic topics covered in the design process include: basic geometry, 3-D drawings, wall sections, building codes, structural parts of a house, and cost estimation procedures. |

Architectural Drafting II
|
This course expands on topics presented in Drafting I and emphasizes the use of AutoCAD. Students will create a two story house design and build a structural model of their design. Other topics include: structural loads, building codes, estimating materials, stair math, architectural styles, alternative energy sources, and project management. |
2nd Year Structural Model

|
This class is for fourth year drafting students. In addition to expanded architectural studies each student is required to create a community based design project that in some way improves Kodiak. | ![]() |
