| David Allen is a 1981 graduate of Iowa State University. Mr. Allen holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial Education. While at Iowa State, David was a two time All-American NCCAA wrestler, placing as high as second in his junior year. Dave and his wife Jolene have lived and taught in two Inupiaq villages, one Yupik Eskimo village, and an Afognak logging camp before teaching in Kodiak City. Dave loves the outdoors. He is a registered assistant big game guide. In 1991 ran and finished the Iditarod. While mushing dogs is no longer an option in Kodiak the Allens have a chocolate lab and couple cats which don’t take to the harness very well. Furniture and specialty items made out of wood are Dave’s passion in woodworking. Dave shares this interest with his students as he introduces machines, hand tools and power hand tools in wood tech classes Mr. Allen currently helps out with the wrestling team and is the head coach of Girls Softball. |
