Spanish II
10-12 grade; Offered as a year-long course
Prerequisites: Spanish I, teacher recommendation required
This course is a continuation of Spanish I and is designed to fulfill college foreign language entrance requirements as well as strengthen the students' basic language skills to the point they are comfortable communicating in non-technical surroundings. Greater emphasis is placed on acquiring fundamental speaking skills. Much of the course is taught in Spanish.

Spanish III
Grade Level(s): 11-12; Year-long course
Prerequisite(s): Spanish II; Teacher recommendation required.

This course is a continuation of Spanish II and is designed to advance student understanding of, and comfort level with,Spanish, both written and verbal. Spanish III is designed for the serious student who wishes to increase language proficiency, as well as attain a better understanding of Hispanic people and their respective cultures. This course is taught mostly in Spanish and includes extensive contemporary readings, subsequent discussions, creative writing assignments, and skits and dialogues. To earn the college credit for this course, the student must earn a minimum of 80% average for the year or pass the cumulative final exam with a minimum 90% average.

Spanish IV
Grade Level(s): 12; Semester or year-long course
Prerequisite(s): Spanish III

This course is a continuation of Spanish III and is designed to advance student understanding of, and comfort level with,Spanish, both written and verbal. Spanish IV is designed for the serious student who wishes to increase language proficiency, as well as attain a better understanding of Hispanic people and their respective cultures.
