Matt Neagley

Matt Neagley has a passion for Alaska and loves living in Kodiak. He says Kodiak is so attractive with its diverse inhabitants, its frontier culture, its natural beauty, and its heralded school system. Previously in Alaska he lived and taught in Port Lions, Seward, Nanwalek, and Juneau. He likes playing, coaching, and otherwise being involved in a wide variety of sports.

Mr. Neagley was born in Davis California, and grew up in New York and New Jersey, living in Ithaca, Tarrytown, and Princeton. He returned to Davis for high school and attended University of California-Davis majoring in history, with minors in English and political science. After traveling and otherwise exploring life beyond school, he moved to Bozeman to complete a Masters program in US history with a focus on frontier history and environmental history. In Alaska, he attended University of Alaska Fairbanks to garner a teaching credential.
