Tamie Fogle

After going to high school in Kodiak, I went off to Harvard University for college. When my bachelor's degree in Psychology was finished, I decided the mainland of the U.S was too much of a rat race for me, so I returned to Kodiak to pursue a career. Since then, I've worked as a substance abuse counselor, youth services coordinator, alternative school aide and, after completing a dual certification in language arts/ humanities and psychology, an alternative program teacher. My Masters degree in Education was focused on methods of instruction, and I wrote a comprehensive thesis examining how drama and dramatic activities can be used to teach other subject areas.** Currently, I teach English, Psychology, Drama and Health.

In my personal life, I'm married with two children, teach trombone lessons, run sound for the Kodiak Arts Council productions, research and re-enact medieval history as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, garden extensively and stay in contact with a steady group of both email and snail mail pen pals. Life is busy and fun - an attitude I try constantly to pass on to my students.
