| During 2007-08 Ms. Heitman teaches:
Speech and Debate: 11-12 grade; Offered first or second semester In the first half of this semester course, students will be involved in the preparation and presentation of a variety of written and oral speech-oriented activities. These will include informative and persuasive speeches, structured discussions, interviews and negotiations. The second half of the course will be dedicated to developing strong, aggressive debating skills. Assessment will be performance-based and will involve public and in-class performances. World Literature Grade Level(s): 11-12; Semester or year-long course American Literature: 11-12 grade; Offered as a semester or year-long course Prerequisites: Composition & Lit or recommendation of previous English instructor. Students exiting American Literature should be able to demonstrate competency in the comprehension and analysis of fiction and nonfiction. Using the writing process and the Six-Trait Writing Rubric, students will produce written evaluation of literature. |
