The Art club meets after school on Tuesdays in the art room. We do a variety of activities, including teaching art to elementary students, creating artwork to sell at local bazaars and painting Christmas windows for local businesses. These activities are fundraisers for materials and for visiting artists to come in and work with us on special projects. This year we had Eva Holm teach us how to do felting with wool. There is also a trip to the mainland in our plans, so that we may experience seeing art and culture in other places. In the past we have gone as far as San Francisco and Spain and as close as Homer and Anchorage. Visiting with contemporary artists in their studios is a priority during these trips.
