-Comprehends literal/inferred meaning from text.
-Reads grade level material accurately, fluently and with expression.
-Restates/Summarizes information
-Demonstrates understanding of main idea
-Follows written directions
-Analyzes content and structures of genres
-Analyzes literary elements and devices
-Analyzes content to text to differentiate fact and opinion -Connects themes in texts read -Makes connections between cultural influences/events

Writing These assessments have been offered by KIBSD's 5th Grade Teachers as optional assessments for teachers of 5th grade. We use the Assessment rubrics to the left to assess all of the following aspects of writing. We also use Writer's Express as an assessment tool. -Uses the writing process to produce a two-paragraph composisiton -Writing reflects consideration of audiences and purpose -Proofreads and edits writing for clarity and accurate use of conventions -Revises Writing -Documents reference sources -Uses resources when writing -Spells core words accurately |
