Substitute Opportunities
The District is always in need of qualified substitutes to fill temporary needs at all buildings and grade levels. Substitute teachers work very closely with the teaching staff and school administration and provide a valuable service to our students on a daily basis. Substitute opportunities include both short-term and long-term placements that recognize the flexible nature of these vacancies.

To become an approved substitute candidate, KIBSD requires that interested persons:

  1. complete a formal application process
  2. read and become familiar with the Substitute Teacher Handbook
  3. provide proof of high school graduation and any subsequent college studies
  4. provide the names of at least four references
  5. provide information about previous employment history
  6. a personal interview may also be required

Final approval for all substitutes is the responsibility
of the Superintendent or his designee.
